Lois Helms

Lois Mae Helms, age 90, of Seymour passed away on November 6, 2020 at The Bay at Oconto. She was born October 31, 1930 a daughter of the late Chris and Barbara (Holl) Christensen.

On September 10, 1949 she was united in marriage to Cliften Helms. He preceded her in death on September 8, 1999.

She attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. Lois loved to do many crafts, especially embroidery and crocheting. She made many afghans for family members and once a year gave one to be raffled for St. Jude. Lois and Cliften operated Helms' Place tavern for several years.

Lois is survived by eight children: Lomae Andersen, Lynn Oakes, Lee (Dawn) Helms, Lowell (Kim) Helms, Louie (Shelby) Helms, Leslie Helms, LaVern (Bonnie) Helms, and Lyle (Rachel) Helms. She is further survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Helms; sons-in-law, Steven Andersen and Bill Fischer; daughter-in-law, Dianna Helms; brothers: Russell and Milton; sisters: Orpha, Iola, and Mildred; step-father, Charles Cole.
