Lorraine Bisterfeldt, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
Lorraine was born on May 21, 1929 in Leeman, Wisconsin to the late Malcolm and Edna (Greely) Leeman. She was united in marriage to Walter Bisterfeldt on June 10, 1950. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2019.
Lorraine attended the Leeman grade school, Shiocton high school, a two-year Tech College in Kaukauna and Oshkosh College. She then became a school teacher in a rural school in the Town of Maine, and taught 4th grade in Navarino for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Leeman Homemakers and active in the Nichols Historical Society.
She enjoyed her retirement by playing volleyball, bowling, camping, and especially her seniors' art group. She loved having the grandkids stay with her and camping trips. Lorraine attended the Trinity Leeman Church all her life, she loved and appreciated Pastor Moira Finley very much. She was involved in the New Hope Circle at church. Lorraine was happy to help build the church; she still had a sliver in her little finger from the bell tower.
She is survived by her children: Lee (Nancy) Bisterfeldt, Shawano; Dean (Sara) Bisterfeldt, Bozeman, MT; grandchildren: Ben (Ashley) Bisterfeldt, Tony (Jenny) Bisterfeldt, Andrea Bisterfeldt, Amber (Chad) Laude, Monica (Adam) Davis, Amanda Steeves; great-grandchildren: Greyson and Harper, Jai and Jase, Liam, Asher, Raine, Gabriel, Kianna, Alivay, Riley, Malikai, Juelz, Anthony, Amoni; special godchildren: Amy Zuiches, Raine Laude; and best friend, Irene Reese Huse; nephews James (Barb) Strauch, Richard (Mary) Strauch, and sisters-in-law Beatrice Leeman and Gen Leeman
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, her son William, siblings Dorothy (Glen) Ethington, Royal (Margaret) Leeman, Nelda (Bill) Collins, Kenneth Leeman, Keith Leeman, Henry (Lois) Leeman, Marcella Leeman, nephews Bob Stutzman and Charles Strauch; and in-laws David and Elizabeth Bisterfeldt and Elizabeth (Harold) Strauch.
Funeral services for Lorraine will take place on Thursday February 27th at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Church of Christ, W6712 County Rd F, Shiocton (Leeman) with Pastor Moira Finley officiating. Memorial visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Lorraine will be laid to rest at the South Maine Cemetery privately at a later date.
Lorraine's family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Shawano Place and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for their loving care for Lorraine.
