Lowell Blake

October 20, 1936 — June 13, 2014

Lowell L. Blake, age 77, passed away at his home Friday, June 13, 2014 with family by his side. He was born on October 20, 1936 in New London, to the late Louis and Mary (Drephal) Blake.
On July 7, 1979 he was united in marriage to Sharon Kettner in Black Creek.
Lowell served on the Black Creek Fire Dept. and Rescue Service for 40 years. He was also very active in Black Creek Advancement Association, Black Creek Trap Club, Immanuel Lutheran Church Council and Black Creek Snowmobile Club where he served in many capacities. He was chosen citizen of the year for Village of Black Creek in 1993. Lowell retired from Scenic Valley Co-Op in 2000. He enjoyed attending Seymour basketball games and Nichols baseball games. He loved following the Packers and Brewers. He also enjoyed listening to Polka music, spending time with his family and hunting buddies.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his daughter, Kristel (special friend Troy Dake); son, Steven; two grandchildren Isaac and Adeline Blake; sister-in-law, Betty (Gary) Krull; brothers-in-law: Donald (Jane) Kettner, Larry (Ann) Kettner, Orville Schilhabel; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters:, Alice (Harvey) Doersch, Eunice Blake and Irene Schilhabel; brother, Raymond (Rebecca and Birgit) Blake. He is also preceded in death by father and mother-in-law, Pat and Laura Kettner; brother-in-law, Lee Kettner; and sister-in-law, Darlene Kettner.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 4 pm to 8 pm. Visitation will continue at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Black Creek, on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor John Brandt officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton
