Lowell O. Thomas, age 90, of Seymour passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. He was born May 20, 1928, a son of the late William and Muriel (Pelon) Thomas.
Lowell attended Washington High School. He in enlisted in the US Navy at age 17 and served aboard the USS Wisconsin from 1946-1947 and was Honorably discharged from the Navy Reserves in March 1953.
Lowell was an officer with the Two Rivers Police Department from 1952-1962. He later moved to northern California, where he was employed as Maintenance Director for various apartments and nursing homes.
He met his wife in Walnut Creek, CA and they were married on May 20, 1984. He and his wife, Dorothy, moved back to Wisconsin in 2004.
Lowell was a Life Member of the Krause-Kraft-Mueller American Legion Post #106 in Seymour.
He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan, enjoyed golfing and bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children: Terry, Linda, and Steve Thomas; step-children: Kristin (John) Leary and Elizabeth Heffern; grandson, Chris (Bev) Thomas; great-granddaughters: Kennedy and Lexi. He leaves one surviving brother, Frances Thomas; and his “adopted” daughter Teri Buck and family; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour, on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 10:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Brian Belongia and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Interment will take place at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Two Rivers.
American Legion Post 106 will be conducting military honors.
