Margaret A. Cismoski (Schuster), of Seymour, was born to Eternal Life on January 9, 2025 at the age of 90.
Margaret was born at home on the family farm in Berlin, WI. She was the youngest of 6 children. She attended the same one room schoolhouse as her older siblings and their father. She rode a horse to and from school in the spring and fall with her older brother. In the winter, her father would hitch a horse to a sleigh and take her and the neighboring kids to school. Margaret had fond memories of her childhood friends. During recess they played baseball and in the winter they ice skated on a flooded farm field across the road. Margaret graduated from Berlin High School then went on to graduate from UW Oshkosh with a degree in Education.
While running an errand to get supplies for the farm, Margaret met Loren Cismoski. This chance meeting blossomed into a lifelong love, and the two were married in August 1958. Margaret and Loren moved to Seymour in 1959 where they raised 6 children and made many lifelong friends.
Margaret was a devoted mother who found joy in creating a warm and loving home. She loved sewing clothes for her children, playing baseball with them in the backyard, and baking homemade treats to greet them after school each day. She was a steadfast supporter of her children's activities, attending as many school and sporting events as possible.
Her dedication to her community was evident through her service as treasurer for the Ladies' Legion Auxiliary, work at Good Shepard Children's Center, the food pantry, and her volunteer work at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Seymour, where she was an active parishioner for 65 years. Margaret's deep faith was central to her life; she prayed the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet daily, leaving a profound influence on her family's faith. She will be deeply missed but cherished forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her children: Ann (Jack) Mitchell, Mike (Kim), Jerry (Sue), Greg (Chris), Tom (Kristina), and Mary (Mike) Hackl; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Loren, and their infant son, Peter, and grandson Joseph.
Visitation will be held at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A funeral Mass to honor Margaret's life will be held on Thursday, January 16, at 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Seymour, officiated by Fr. Brian Belongia and Deacon Rich Matuszak. Visitation will take place at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow the funeral Mass at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at Meadowood Assisted Living in Seymour where she was lovingly cared for the past 2 years, and her weekly church and coffee friends where they shared lots of love, laughs, talk of religion and politics, topped off with a little Tippy Cow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Margaret's name are greatly appreciated.
