Margaret Grumann

Margaret H. (Hahn) Grumann, 75, former longtime Nichols resident, died on August 25, 2012 at age 75 in Sun City West, AZ. Margaret was born on April 16, 1937 to Herman and Viola Gast, and lived in Shawano through high school. She married Darrel Hahn of Nichols in 1956 and together they shared 34 years of marriage until his death in 1991. Darrel and Margaret had two children, Douglas and Sheila. As the CEOs of the State Bank of Nichols, Margaret and Darrel were an active part of the local community and banking organizations. Margaret's community involvement included the Nichols elementary school, Ascension Lutheran Church, Good Shepherd Nursing Home and the Village of Nichols.
Margaret married Bob Christianson in 1993 and shared a brief but happy 21 months together prior to his death in 1995.
Margaret retired to Sun City West, Arizona in 1996 and met Glenn Grumann shortly thereafter. They married in 1999 and enjoyed a healthy and vibrant retirement together for 13 years.
Margaret is survived by her husband Glenn; son Douglas Hahn and his wife Susan, their children Nicholas (Kelli) Zachary, Emily and great grand-daughter Ruby; daughter Sheila Babendir and her husband Bruce, their children Kimberly, Jennifer, Bethany, Jacob and Brianna; Glenn's daughter Lynn Brodie. She is also survived by her brother Richard Gast and his wife Marlene; sister-in-law Irma Gast; 13 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life gathering is scheduled for Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 4-6:30 PM with a memorial service at 6:30 PM at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main St. Seymour, WI. Burial will take place in Ascension Lutheran Cemetery in Navarino. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com
