Marian R. Melchert, 80, Seymour passed away early Thursday morning, October 13, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born March 10, 1931, daughter of the late Theodore and Alma (Kuse) Rihm.
On August 15, 1951, she was united in marriage to Robert Melchert in the Town of Cicero. She and her husband farmed on the Century Farm in the Town of Seymour. Marian was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where she was active in Concordia, past choir member and a former Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Marry Mates Club. Her cats, cooking, baking and time spent with her family were important to her.
Marian is survived by her husband, Robert; her children: Ronald Melchert, Seymour; Nancy (Rick) Jones, Herndon, VA; Steven Melchert, Seymour; Brian (Cheryl) Melchert, Seymour; Bruce (Cathy) Willmar, Minnesota; grandchildren: Mary (Ryan) Carlson, Bobby (Wynt) Jones, Michelle Jones, Stephanie (Steve) South, Stacy Melchert (fiancee Joshua Marshall), Aaron (Jessica) Melchert, Marie Nilles-Melchert, Thomas Nilles-Melchert; a great granddaughter, Heidi; brothers: Earl Rihm, Milwaukee; Raymond (Vera) Rihm, Black Creek; sisters-in-law, Helen Rihm, Appleton; Marie Melchert, Milwaukee; Jean Melchert, Seymour
She was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Joan Rihm, Frances Rihm, Walter (Ruth), Raymond (Lucy), Alfred (LuLu), Rev. Elmer (Virginia), Carl, Henry (Adela), Esther Melchert, Ruth (Lloyd) La Violette
Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 4 - 8 p.m. and Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating.
