Marie A. Seehafer, 97, of Neenah and formerly of Black Creek, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022. She was born on May 28, 1925 a daughter of the late George and Olive (Burton) Bessette.
Marie was united in marriage to Norman Seehafer on June 23, 1943 in Bear Creek. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1990.
She and Norman operated a grocery store near Bear Creek and in 1955 established the Seehafer Grocery Store and Locker Plant in Black Creek. Marie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Black Creek.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Betty (Dan) Splitt; daughter-in-law, Sandra Seehafer; grandchildren: Lynn (Scott) Weatherwax, Michele (Cory) Susor, Bryan (Heather) Seehafer, Eric (Christie) Hanson, Kari (John) Speakman, and Jon Splitt; great-grandchildren: Kelsey (fiance, Jay), Riley, Kiersten, Keali, Rianne (fiance, Colton), Reese, Rachel, Emma (Tyler), Elizabeth, Hannah, Lauren, Logan, Myla, and Caden; great-great-grandson, Colton; and a sister, Marilyn Siebert.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Seehafer; son, Ben Seehafer; brothers and sisters.
Visitation will take place on Friday, October 28 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Black Creek from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. David Greskowiak officiating. Entombment will take place at Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Shawano.
