Marie Veitch

June 5, 1920 — October 18, 2015

Marie L. Veitch, age 95, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born June 5, 1920, daughter of the late Andrew and Martha (Witthuhn) Barth.
Marie graduated from Seymour High School in 1938 and attended Oshkosh Normal School earning her teaching degree. Marie organized every high school class reunion until 2013.
On July 10, 1943, she was united in marriage to Malcolm Veitch in the Township of Cicero. He preceded her in death August 18, 1983. Marie and Malcolm owned and operated Veitch Well Drilling together for many years prior to their retirement.

Marie was a lifelong and active member of New Life United Methodist Church having served in many different roles.
Early in her married life Marie took pride in raising her family. Her other love was music, having a gift to play the piano. She shared her talents with many throughout the years and was still playing piano at Good Shepherd and Meadow Wood. She gave her last piano lesson at the age of 95. Marie also shared her gift of music with her family, teaching some of her children, grandchildren, and many others in the community.

She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Decker, Gautier, MS; Jim (Bonnie) Veitch, De Pere; Ginny (Bill) Trost, Green Bay; Margie (Jon Claude Smith) Veitch, Seymour; grandchildren: Michelle (Daniel) Dreier, Deborah Decker (Bill Smith), Jenny Thiel, Katie (Scott) Beilke, William (Heather) Trost, Mike Trost, Kevin (Danielle) Trost, Sam (Alanna) Trost, Robby (Jennifer) Kmecheck, and Kristin (DeRon) Miller; and 13 great-grandchildren. Further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ronald Decker; siblings, and in-laws.

Friends may call at New Life United Methodist Church, Seymour, on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 9 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Rebecca Henry and Pastor Lynn Kollath officiating. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
