Marilyn Marie Rich, 66, of Fargo, passed away unexpectedly January 22, 2016.
She was born in Appleton, WI on April 25, 1949, daughter of the late George and Myrtle Masche.
Marilyn attended Hortonville High School, University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, and Fox Valley Technical College. She had recently retired in September of 2015 from Lutheran Social Services after eight years of employment. She was choir direction at Plymouth First Congregation UCC and member of First Congregation UCC in Fargo. Marilyn enjoyed music through teaching, directing, performing, and attending a variety of art performances.
**** Marilyn had worked in the office at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home in Seymour.
Marilyn was married December 28, 2003 to Gene Rich. They were blessed and enjoyed train travel, exploring nature, and debates of whatever matter was at hand. Marilyn cherished maps, geography, and history. She enjoyed exploring the world and immersing herself in whatever she found along her way in her most sensible, practical manner. Most of all Marilyn enjoyed sharing her talents and knowledge humbly with friends, family, and wide variety of audiences. Marilyn will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in everyone that knew her.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Gene; daughter, Aidan; stepchildren Christen, Wendy, and Jason; step grandchildren Nicholas and Victoria Claire; step great-grandchild Bella; sisters, Norene and Elaine; niece Mandy and nephew William.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, George and Myrtle and brother, Duane.
Predeceased or surviving include wonderful friends and relatives who were in her life adding enjoyment, widening horizons and giving new dimensions that made for an even fuller and richer life.
Friends may visit at First Congregational UCC in Fargo, ND Monday, February 1, 2016 from 10am until services at 2pm with Pastor Rev. Dr. Kevin Cassiday-Maloney. Burial will take place in Hannaford, ND at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Churches United for the Homeless in Moorhead, MN or Red Cloud Indian School of Pine Ridge, SD.
