Marion E. Fischer, age 92, of De Pere, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015. She was born June 20, 1923, daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude (De Bruin) Kempen.
On May 24, 1945, she was united in marriage to Francis A. Fischer at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom, WI. He preceded her in death November 11, 2003.
Marion was an active member at St. John's Catholic Church in Seymour and later Our Lady of Lourdes in De Pere.
Marion was a devoted wife and mother. She loved a party or celebration. Marion enjoyed cards, bowling, golfing and most of all times with her family. After retiring from farming, Marion and Francis spend several years in Florida; coming home in the summer months.
In 1999, they moved back to Wisconsin and resided at St. Mary's St. in De Pere. They enjoyed their new home and getting everything just right. Marion looked forward to being near the family again.
Marion is survived by her children: Sharon (Mark) Schrading, Kaukauna; Joyce (Greg) Rottier, De Pere; Gary (Trena) Fischer, Armarillo, TX; Ronald (Robin) Fischer, Green Bay; Dave (Mary) Fischer, Appleton; Michael (Deanna) Fischer, Ravenel, SC; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Marion is further survived by a sister, Grace Van De Hei; brothers: Robert (Arlene) Kempen, Francis (Anna Marie) Kempen; brothers-in-law: Robert (Marion) Fischer, Donald Fischer; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis; son, Timothy Fischer; grandson, Mark Rottier; two brothers: Raymond (Mary) Kempen and Clarence (Elsie) Kempen; two sisters: Bertha (Ray) Schuh and Stella (Don) Calmes; brothers-in-law: Emil (Marie), Ben (Hilda), Ray (Katherine), Art (Regina), Charles (Helen) Fischer; sisters-in-law: Helen (Joe) Heinemann, Laurene (Mike) King, Marie (Richard) Miller, Marcella (BJ) Roark, and Delores (Cliff) Reiland.
Friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Seymour on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at
