Marion Brandt Freemore, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on November 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Henry and Nora (Sassman) Brandt of Black Creek, WI. She grew up in Black Creek and graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing in Milwaukee.

She worked as a public health nurse for Outagamie County and as the School Nurse for the Seymour School District from where she retired.

She married Andrew "Jack" Freemore on December 24, 1945. They lived in Seymour most of their married lives and also had a cottage on Loon Lake for many years. Jack preceded her in death on December 18, 1986.

Jack and Marion had one son, Vern, who preceded her in death on January 27, 2010. Marion is survived by Vern's wife, Billie Jean (Winger) Freemore, her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Sidney (Freemore) and Scott Garber and her great-granddaughter, Layla.

Marion had one sister, Rosetta (Harold) Abel, and one brother, Roy (Elaine) Brandt, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by Jack's brother, Bob and sister-in-law, Elaine, and sister, Verna and her husband Frank.

She is survived by nephew Kent Abel, his wife Valerie and their daughter, Leisha of Black Creek, WI; nephew Jerry Freemore of South Dakota; and niece, Pam (Freemore) Clough and her husband and their sons of Alaska.

Marion was preceded in death by many good friends but also is survived by special friends: Jo Ellarson, Betty Singler and Gert Nagel.

Special thanks to Good Shepherd Services assisted living and nursing home for the assistance given to Marion this past year. Also special thanks to the Knope family whose assistance allowed Marion to enjoy many summers at her cottage on Loon Lake. Finally, special thanks to Lynn Clark for the many doctor visits which she drove Marion to.

Friends may call at St. John's United Church of Christ, Black Creek on Saturday, May 22, 2010, from 9 AM until funeral services at 11 AM with Reverend Robin Reed officiating. Burial will be in Black Creek Evangelical Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com .

Memorials can be given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in Marion's name.
