Marjorie J. Schmidt, age 84, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. She was born March 27, 1926, daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Trams) Peterson.

Marjorie met her husband, Leslie in high school and they married in 1946. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Black Creek where she was involved with many organizations: Women's Guild, Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir and brought many flowers to church from her garden which she loved to work in. She enjoyed high school basketball and helping raise two foster girls. She also volunteered at Outagamie County Health in Appleton and later at Good Shepherd. She was a 4-H Leader for many years and helped to form the Countryside 4-H Club.

She also worked along with her husband on the farm which has prospered nearly 100 and is now operated by the third and fourth generations.

She is survived by her husband of 64 ½ years, Leslie, a son, Wayne (Doris), Shiocton; daughter, Carol, Shiocton; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen, son, Daniel, grandson, James, and a brother Ivo.

Friends may call at St. John's United Church of Christ, Black Creek, 101 S. Clark Street, Black Creek; on Sunday, December 12, 2010 from 3 PM to 6 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, December 13, 2010 from 10 AM until services at 11 AM with Pastor Don Baumann officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
