Marlene Cisler, 76, of Seymour, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Two Rivers on June 16, 1938, to the late John and Caroline Walesh. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, Class of 1956, and then earned her LPN degree from Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Milwaukee. On August 9, 1958, she married George Cisler at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc.
Marlene will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 57 years, George; her four children and their spouses, Teri (Dan) Van Boxtel, Seymour; Kathie (Jeff) Hacker, Sherwood; Mike (Monica) Cisler, Greenville; and Tim (Lorri) Cisler, Ashwaubenon. She is further survived by seven grandchildren, Nathan (Jenna) Haase, Holmen; Stefanie (special friend John) Pagel, Chicago, IL; Lexie (Jed) Roffers, Darboy; Sarah (Tom) Curry, Madison; Lyssa Haase, Denver, CO; Cayley Haase, Seymour; and Courtney Cisler, Eugene, OR. She is also survived by her special son, Tim (Susan) Gavronski, New Britain, CT; Aunt Evelyn Kujawa, Green Bay; cousin, Mary Jo (Steve) Bieda, Green Bay; four little great-grandsons, and her precious dog, Angel.
Marlene was one of the first employees of Good Shepherd Nursing Home. She was hired as a licensed practical nurse and formed many meaningful relationships. Marlene was an EMT for the Seymour Rescue Squad for 17 years and served as the director for her final nine years. She took great pride in serving her community. Marlene was also an avid fan of musical theater. She travelled to New York City more than 20 times to experience the best musicals on Broadway.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established for the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Friends may call at the Muehl Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main Street, Seymour, on Tuesday, June 9, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, June 10, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 915 Ivory Street, Seymour, at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Father Robert Kabat officiating.
