Mary Steffens

Mary Steffens, age 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

Mary's journey on earth began on June 28, 1947 the oldest daughter of the late Elzer and Rita (Van Den Heuvel) Biese. Mary was united in marriage to Norman Steffens on April 27, 1968 at St. John's Church, Seymour.

She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren, crocheting afghans, going out to lunch with friends, sending cards and reading. Mary enjoyed decorating the home she and Norm built in 2005 with her collection of beautiful ceramics and glassware. Mary managed a floral department at Sentry in Appleton and Webster Avenue Market in Green Bay.

She is survived by her husband Norman Steffens having enjoyed 53 years of marriage; their children and spouses: William (Jenny) Steffens, Karen (Scott) Berndt, Rick (Angela) Steffens, Bonnie (Travis) Leisgang; her grandchildren who meant the world to her: Megan Steffens, Kyle Steffens, Zachary Berndt, Brock Berndt, Connor Steffens, Caden Steffens, Peyton (Shane) Feustal, Cael Leisgang, Cash Leisgang; great grandchild: Huxson; siblings: Barbara (James) Benzschawel, Appleton; Henry (Pam) Biese, Seymour; Gerald (Ruth) Biese, Seymour; Joan (David) Lease, Wasilla, Alaska; William (Linda) Biese, Black Creek; Joseph (Sue) Biese, Black Creek; Carol (Sam) Van Dyke, Green Bay; Janice (Dale) Schuessler, Seymour; Richard (Kimberly) Biese, Burns, Tennessee; many other special friends and relatives.

According to Mary's wishes, a private family funeral mass took place at St. John Catholic Church in Seymour. Burial took place in the parish cemetery.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the team at Ascension St. Elizabeth Cancer Center and the entire Heartland Hospice family for your expertise and supportive care.
