Maurice Stilen

October 15, 1928 — March 25, 2009

Maurice Stilen, age 80 passed away Wednesday evening, March 25, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with emphysema. He was born October 15, 1928 son of the late Lawrence and Alvina (Balthazor) Stilen. On April 28, 1951 he was united in marriage to Joyce Roberts in Oshkosh.

Maurice was employed with Neenah Paper until his retirement. He was an Army Korean Conflict Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and making maple syrup on his family farm.

He is survived by his wife Joyce, his children: Wayne (Cathy) Stilen, Clintonville; Debra (Charlie) McNabb, Lena; Steve (special friend Lou Ann) Stilen, Shiocton; grandchildren: Sandy (Jesse) Le Noble, Greenville; Julie (Cory) Wunderlich, Hortonville; Wayne "Bean" Stilen, Shiocton; Michael (Tina) McNabb, Oconto Falls; Debra (Dave) Hammond, Green Bay; David (Nicole) McNabb, Kewaskum; Michelle Stilen, Shiocton; 20 great-grandchildren: very special great-grandson Bryce St. Thomas (Grandpa's big boy), Katelynn, Kyle, Jaydon, Chase, Daniel, Marah, Branden, Bailey, Nathaniel, Megan, Payton, Abigail, Alex, Hunter, Hannah, Emilie, Faith, Zachary, and Braeden. He is further survived by his sisters: Violet Malinski, New London and Goldie Greshamer, New London; a brother Joe "Floyd" (Mae) Stilen, Florida.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Stilen, parents and step-father Gordon Koelbl, sister Delila and two brothers Ronald and Roger.

Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Sunday, March 29, 2009 from noon until funeral services at 2 PM. Burial in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Navarino. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com .

We'll remember you for your sense of humor and wisdom. You won every argument as you were always right. Nature and your walks in the woods were important. You had a big heart and your memory will be in our hearts forever.
