Mavis E. Sausen, 83, of Black Creek, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 30, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center, from lung failure. She was born April 21, 1932, daughter of the late Jacob and Edna (Reickmann) Elmer.
On June 23, 1956, Mavis was united in marriage to Frank Sausen celebrating 59 years together.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Black Creek and the Ladies Aid for 35 years. Mavis enjoyed playing the accordion and old time music in her younger years. She enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, sewing and visiting her grandchildren.
Mavis is survived by her husband of 59 years, Frank Sausen; daughters: Mary (Don) Buettner, and Barb Sausen; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene (Jackie) Elmer; and two brothers-in-law: Henry (Betty) Sausen and Chuck Sausen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Eunice (Gerald) Jacoby.
Friends may call at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Stephen Schlicht officiating. Burial will take place in the Lake View Cemetery in Oshkosh.
Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family with arrangements.
A memorial fund is established in Mavis's name for the Ladies Aid at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
The family wishes to thank the medical staff at the Appleton Medical Center for their care and support.
