Melvin O. Stapel, 92, of Little Chute, formerly of Nichols, passed away Monday morning, March 14, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care, Little Chute. He was born February 6, 1924, son of the late Edward and Pauline (Koon) Stapel.
Melvin retired from Menasha Corporation. He enjoyed car racing and anything automotive. He also loved fishing and following the Brewers and Packers.
Survivors include his children: Ralph (Betty) Stapel, Marinette; Mark Stapel, Seymour; Shirley (Patrick) Kenney, Muskego; Calvin (Janet) Stapel, Kimberly; Sharon Sigl, Appleton; Ronald (Paula) Stapel, Nichols; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wives, Pauline and Florence; one daughter-in-law, Sharon; one sister, Bernice; two brothers, Orville and Wilbert.
Friends may call at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cicero on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 4 p.m. until services at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Online condolences may be expressed at
