Michael Brehmer

March 5, 1946 — August 20, 2021

Michael John Brehmer, 75, Gulf Breeze, FL, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, following complications from Covid-19. He was born on March 5, 1946, in Oshkosh, to the late Ernest and Betty (Losse) Brehmer. On August 31, 2004, Michael was united in marriage to Sandra Doxtator in Oshkosh.

Michael was a carpenter. He was involved in the building and remodeling of numerous businesses as an employee at Immel Construction. Michael was a member of Carpenters Local 1146. He built a cabin in the Town of Breed, where he and Sandra resided for many years. The couple also lived in various regions of Wisconsin. After Michael's retirement, the couple relocated to Florida. He was an active member at the United Methodist Church in Gulf Breeze, FL, where he served in numerous capacities.

Michael was an avid fisherman and hunter. He found peace on the water and in the woods. Michael and Sandra loved their Florida oasis and cherished having family and friends regularly visit them. Michael was a talented cook. He enjoyed cooking for his family and at his church. He was well-known for his fish fries and shrimp boils.

Michael is survived by his wife, Sandra Brehmer; seven children: Shawn (Tricia) Brehmer, Melissa (Mitch) Campbell, Patty (Mike) Hoeft, Tim Ninham (Fawn Billie), Pamela Ninham (Pamela Danby), Steve Ninham (Correna Benton), and Matt (Tatiana) Ninham; eleven grandchildren: Collin, Kelly and Jacob Brehmer; Mackenzie and Michael Campbell; Lauren (Kyle) Cornelius and Olivia Hoeft (Sebastian von Zerneck); Camille Billie and Imani Ninham; Vivien and Maksim Ninham; and one great-grandson, Owen Cornelius; siblings: Jill (John) Bernick, Dennis (Wendy) Brehmer, Holly Brehmer-Eichman, Tim (Julie) Brehmer, Ernie (Sheri) Brehmer, and Danny (Charlene) Brehmer; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Brehmer; and his feline companion, Tom Tom.

In accordance with Michael's wishes, a private memorial service will be held.

The family extends a special thanks to the staffs of Baptist Hosptial in Pensacola, FL and Bellin Hospital in Green Bay for their care and compassion. Also, a special thanks to Nancy Doig and numerous friends of Sailwind Condos in Gulf Breeze, FL, for their friendship and compassion.
