Michael "Mike" Rudie, age 79, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 after struggling with dementia the past few years.
Michael was born on December 27, 1943 to the late Ole and Geraldine (nee Hovie) Rudie. Mike grew up on the family farm in Lessor. Mike graduated from Bonduel High School.
Mike loved sports, and played baseball during and after high school for Landstad and Navarino. Mike was a kind and caring person; he was known to start conversations with strangers and made friends with everyone he met. Mike owned a trucking company in Florida for many years, he farmed and also raised beef cattle in Missouri, and drove cross country as a truck driver. He was passionate about following the Brewers, Packers, playing golf and loved to dance.
He is survived by his siblings, Ken (Diana) Rudie, Jackie (Bob) Weier, and Cindy (Mike Glasl) Rudie; nieces and nephews Ryan (Beth) Rudie and family, Reed (Kelly) Rudie and family, Aaron (Erica) Weier and family, Jason (Jackie) Weier and family, Ben (Lisa) Lardinois, and family. Mike also loved his step-children Chris, Lynn, and Eric as if they were his own children.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Mike will be held on Friday July 28th at 11:00 AM at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 South Main Street. Memorial visitation will take place at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Private interment at a later date.
Mike's family would like to thank his step son Chris and his wife Lisa for their compassionate care for Mike in the early years of his illness. Mike's family would also like to thank the staff at Patient Pines and Unity Hospice for their care and attention given to Mike.
