Michael Wagner

October 28, 1950 — January 27, 2025

Michael J. "Mike" Wagner, age 74, passed away unexpectedly on January 27, 2025.

Michael was born on October 28, 1950 to the late Raymond and Gladys Wagner in Green Bay. He attended and graduated from Seymour High School. Shortly after Mike graduated from high school he was drafted into the US Army and served in Vietnam. Following his service he dedicated 38 years of his life working for Outagamie County.

As a devoted father, grandfather, and friend, Mike cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. He loved trading farm stories with his grandson Sean while working on old Allis-Chalmers tractors and his 1963 C-10 Chevrolet. While with his granddaughters Savannah and Remi, he would deep dive into princess stories, coloring, and art projects with them; finding joy in simple, meaningful moments with his family.

Mike had a deep love for the outdoors which included deer hunting, turkey hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed riding in his boat or simply taking in nature. The peace and joy he found in the great outdoors was something he treasured.

One of Mike's favorite pastimes was spending time in his workshop with the neighbors. Everyone was welcome. Sometimes the entire workshop would be filled with people, both young and old, from around the neighborhood. It was a special place where stories were shared, laughter was abundant, and friendships grew strong.

On a special note, Mike's life was blessed with the gift of organ donation in 2020. This was a gift he never took for granted. After his transplant, he embraced life more than ever; reaching out to loved ones more often, saying "I love you" more freely, and cherishing every moment with family and friends. He understood the value of time and made sure those of us around him felt his love and appreciation.

Mike's warm heart, adventurous spirit, and generosity will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his son, Nick (Melissa) Wagner; daughter, Cassie (Peter) Jesunas; grandchildren: Remi, Sean, and Savannah; siblings: Betty (Don) Sedo, Chris (Dennis) Neuman, Carol (Mike) Bluma, Steve (Nancy); sisters-in-law: Bonnie Wagner, Darlene Wagner, and Jennifer Wagner; and brother-in-law, Jim (Karen Sievert) Weyers; and many nieces, nephews, and relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Dennis, Mary Weyers, Tom, and Bob; and brother-in-law, Lee Griesbach.

The visitation will be at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Monday, February 3, 2025 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm. The Parish prayer service will be held at 7:00pm.
