Mildred A. Mory, age 100, of Seymour, passed away at Good Shepherd Nursing Home on April 22, 2021. She was born December 22, 1920, daughter of the late William and Eva (Sedo) Ruwoldt.
She was united in marriage to Merlyn H. Mory on March 6, 1941 in Dubuque, IA. They farmed together in the town of Cicero for 34 years. Merlyn preceded her in death on September 22, 2005.
Mildred was a devoted member of New Life Methodist Church in Cicero, where she directed and sang in the choir. She held various positions in the church over the years and was the representative of the church when Good Shepherd was started.
She began her career as a bank teller in 1959 in Black Creek before moving to Nichols State Bank until her retirement. Mildred continued working part-time at the bank into her 80's.
She enjoyed canning and freezing from her vegetable garden, making various crafts, sewing, cooking, and volunteering at church. Her favorite memories were made on Sundays with her family.
Mildred is survived by her children: Larry Mory, Mary (Mike DeRuyter) Spaude, Steven (Ranee) Mory, Jeanne Mory; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James Mory; granddaughter, Jessica; sister, Marian (Wally) Mooney; brother, Walter (Dorothy) Ruwoldt; and sister-in-law, Verda (Ray) Thomas.
A private family service was held for Mildred, with burial at Highland Memorial Park.
