Nancy Schield

January 2, 1937 — February 22, 2013

Nancy M. Schield (nee Nohr), 76, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, February 22, 2013 after suffering from Alzheimers Disease.

She was born in Appleton, WI on January 2, 1937 to the late William and Norma Nohr. Nancy married Roger E. Schield in Appleton on April 21, 1956. Roger preceded her in death on June 19, 2002.

Nancy retired from Sears Roebuck and Co. after 30 years of employment. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a member of her Homemakers Club. She took great pride in raising her children and thoroughly enjoyed her role as a grandmother. She just became a great-grandmother on December 28, 2012. She enjoyed her flower gardens, reading, playing Greedy, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters: Kris DeClerc, Green Bay, and Pam (Andy) Huettl, Seymour; one son, Paul Schield, Minneapolis, MN; and her dear and special friend and companion, Donald Wick. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Eric DeClerc, Green Bay, Chelsey (Adam) Schaumberg and great granddaughter Zoe, Seymour, Christopher and Lauren Huettl, Whitewater, August and Nathaniel Schield, Minneapolis, MN; her brother Roger Nohr, Milwaukee; sister-in-law Virginia Nohr, Shawano; nephew Gregory (Karen) Nohr and family of Eagen, MN; niece Debbie (Gregory) Hauert and family, Appleton. Also survived by Roger's family: Gerald and Doris Schield, Richard and Ruth Schield, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger; parents; daughter Cheryl Schield; brother and sister-in-law Lester and Betty Nohr; sister-in-law Marilyn Nohr; and brother-in-law Allan Schield.

Friends and family may call at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Dr., Green Bay, WI on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 9:00 am until services at 11 am with Pastor Scott Malme officiating. Burial will take place at Fort Howard Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Nancy's memory.
