Norman E. Blohm, 83, of Seymour passed away Monday night, June 2, 2014 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born February 11, 1931 son of the late Harvey and Marion (Veitch) Blohm.
On November 28, 1951 he was united in marriage to Violet Surman at St. John's Church in Seymour.
Norm attended Seymour High School and worked for the Outagamie Highway Dept. where he retired at the age of 58. For 48 years he served on the Conservation Congress and was a Hunter Safety Instructor for 41 years and a 4-H Leader for 40 years. He was an avid gardener, hunter, fisherman and had a hobby of raising rabbits and other animals.
He was survived by his wife, Violet; children: Kathie (Ron) Janz, Barbara (Dave) Gorecki, Julie Blohm (special friend Ed Vanden Langenberg), Norman Jr. (Chris) Blohm; grandchildren: Ronnie Janz, Stephen (Stephanie) Janz, Douglas Janz, Joshua Janz, Jason (Krystal) Gorecki, Brenda (Scott) Samson, Marc (Pang) Gorecki, Megan (Brian) Buczek, Beau Blohm; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-granddaughter; brother Vernon (Jean) Blohm; sister, Patricia (Jack) Rohloff; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Virginia Wachtendonk, Lavern (Chickie) Surman, Lavina Stephani, Verona (Jerry) Martin, Rosalie Schwietzer, Rosemary Burton.
Preceded in death by his brother Darwin Blohm; sister, Roberta Mory; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Alma Surman; brothers-in-law: Verge (Eleanor "Toots") Surman, Richard Wachtendonk, Ervin Stephani.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 4 p.m. until memorial services at 7 p.m. with Deacon Gary Stephani officiating.
