Patti Jo Hackel

July 10, 1964 — January 3, 2023

Patti Jo Hackel of Appleton, formerly of Seymour, passed away at her home the morning of January 3rd, 2023. Patti was born July 10th, 1964, to the late Raymond and Rosemary (Van Den Eng) Hackel. Patti grew up on her family farm in Isaar and was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church. She attended and graduated from Plamann School. Following graduation and until her retirement, she worked at Valley Packaging. Patti enjoyed spending time with family and friends, freely expressing her love to those in her inner circle. She also enjoyed listening to music, singing, watching movies and her favorite tv shows, artwork, and playing cards. She looked forward to her trips to the casino and visits to Florida with extended family, and she treasured the companionship of her dog Jackie. Cheeseburgers from McDonalds and lunch at Golden Corral were always a special treat. She loved a good party, especially her annual birthday celebration, and brought an infectious laugh and feisty personality to every gathering.

Later in life Patti received residential services from Homes for Independent Living and in 2017 moved to her final home at Rogers Avenue with Clarity Care. Medical issues impacted her ability to live life to its fullest during these final years, but Patti's family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Rogers Avenue. Not only did they tend to her daily care needs during this challenging time, but they shared kindness, compassion, and friendship with her when she needed it most.

Patti is survived by her siblings: Ron (Sally) Hackel, Judy (Dennis) O'Boyle, Susie (Jafar) Manselle, and Debbie (Gary) Gostas; and her brother in-law Don Jorgenson.

She is further survived by her nieces and nephews: Dawn (Mark) Tunkel, Denny (Jenny) Hackel, Ashley (fiancé Rob Dulka) Hackel, Trevor Manselle, Kaya Manselle, Jackson Gostas, Davis Gostas, and Johanna Jorgenson. She is further survived by six grandnephews and grandnieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Laurie Hackel; her many aunts and uncles; and her boyfriend Jimmy.
