Paul Kroncke

May 22, 1953 — January 1, 2023

Paul Robert Kroncke, Seymour, passed away peacefully at home after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday, January 1, 2023, with his family at his side. He was born May 22, 1953, to the late Carl and Myrtle (Wendt) Kroncke. On September 6, 1975, he was united in marriage to Pamela Elsner. Pamela preceded Paul in death on November 22, 2014.

Paul was a 1971 graduate of Seymour High School and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour. Paul worked at H. B. Fuller for over 20 years until they closed their operation. He later worked for Schwann's (which led to his nickname "the ice cream man") until his retirement in 2016. Paul served his community in many ways. He was a member of the Seymour district school board and also was a volunteer firefighter for the town of Osborn.

Paul enjoyed taking road trips. Most of his trips were to see family on their vacations, or grandkids at their sporting events. Paul enjoyed deer hunting which always included opening weekend deer camp. He enjoyed fishing (but only if the weather was perfect) at Glade Lake, and for many years a summer fishing trip to Cedar Lake Lodge in Canada. He also enjoyed camping with the grandchildren. Paul took pride in his family and raised them to always put family first. Including the close friends we call "family."

Survivors include four children: Gregory (Amy) Kroncke, Jessica (Scott) Trachte, Cassandra (Marty) Schroeder, and Lance (Dani) Kroncke; eight grandchildren: Hanna, Alex, Colton, Hailey, Hunter, Lucas, Lily, and Landyn; three brothers: Carl "Chuck" Kroncke, James "Jim" (Patty) Kroncke, and Becky (Steve) Mongin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents Paul was preceded in death by his niece, Phoenix Mongin.

Visitation will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at 3:00 p.m., Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. The fund will be used to allow his grandchildren to plant a tree in Papa's honor.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff of ThedaCare - Appleton emergency department, 7th floor staff, oncology team, and ProMedica hospice.

We would like to also thank our friends, family, and neighbors for your hospitality during such a difficult time.
