Peter "Pete" L. Meulemans, 45, of Freedom passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 following a well-fought fight with cancer. He was born on March 15, 1978 to John and Debra (Nettekoven) Meulemans. He grew up in Nichols and graduated from Seymour High School in 1996.
On September 14, 2002 he was united in marriage to Amanda Ward at Pamperin Park in Green Bay.
A huge fan of the Vegas Golden Knights NHL team, the Badgers, and an admitted Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, he enjoyed watching games with friends and family. His love for metal music led to many fun concert experiences with Amanda. He enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places but his favorite was going to Cozumel with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda; parents, John and Debbie Meulemans; brother, Jason (Becky) Meulemans; grandmother, Nancy Meulemans; nieces, Mackenzie and Hailey Meulemans; mother-in-law, Remona Ward; brother-in-law, Andy Ward; grandmother-in-law, Vera Piver; and his Husky kids, Sapphire, Reavo and Grymm. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Pete was preceded in death by his grandparents: Donald and Caroline Nettekoven, and Lawrence Meulemans.
Visitation for Pete will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Moira Finley officiating.
Pete was a casual guy and his service will be as well. We encourage wearing your favorite sports attire or concert t-shirts if you would like.
Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Special thanks to Dr. Gautam and his staff at Aurora, to all the wonderful nurses, Brenda and all the gals at the reception desk on the 1st and 2nd floors, Robin for always being able to access Pete's port, Tom and the other volunteers, and our valet gal, Diane, who always greeted us with a smile, and to the nurses and staff from Unity Hospice . Thank you all for making Pete feel at ease and making this cancer journey a little more bearable. Bless you all for some wonderful memories through this all.
