Phyllis M. Ourada, age 86, of Black Creek, passed away on June 26, 2012 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton. She was born May 2, 1926 to the late Bernard and Angrose (Lyons) Young, the oldest in the family with seven younger brothers.
She married Wencel "Jim" Ourada on June 30, 1945 at St. Patrick's in Stephensville. Phyllis was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek.
She enjoyed cooking for family and friends making wonderful meals, including home baked pie for dessert. Phyllis was an excellent seamstress and everyone in the family has a homemade quilt and hand crocheted afghan from Grandma O.
She had the greenest thumb ever! Phyllis raised an enormous amount of houseplants and enjoyed canning produce from her huge vegetable garden. Mom made some pretty great jams and jellies that she shared with the entire family. She was a wonderful mother always putting her family's needs ahead of her own.
She is survived by four children: Linda McClone, Lakewood; Connie (Clark) Pingel, Sherwood; Rudy Ourada, Black Creek; James Ourada, Black Creek; six grandchildren: Michael (Michelle) McClone, Jill (Troy Best) McClone, Cory McClone, Melanie (Bill) Malm, Valerie (Nathan) Davis, Nicholas (Sara) Pingel; nine great grandchildren: Hunter, Makena, Jacob, Wilson, Lilly, Jacqui, Max, Ellison, and Grey. Further survived by five brothers: Norman, Nate, Jerry, Eugene, and Ben Young; and a sister-in-law Agnes Kuenzli.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Jim; son Stephen; son-in-law Alan McClone; two brothers: Eldren and Lorien.
Friends may call at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 301 E. Burdick St., Black Creek, on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 9 AM until the funeral mass at 11 AM with Fr. Theodore Hendricks officiating. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stephensville.
