Phyllis M. Pelishek, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on February 14, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born on April 5th, 1938, to the late Joseph and Agnes Kaster.
She was a 1956 graduate of St. Joseph Academy and was persuing the nunnery at Sisters Holy Cross convent until she met the love of her life. Phyllis and Leonard were united in holy matrimony on November 10th, 1962, eventually settling down in Seymour, WI to raise their 9 children. Phyllis was a homemaker and housekeeper at Good Shepherd Nursing Home where she was recognized multiple times as employee of the month.
Upon retirement, Leonard and Phyllis moved to Suring, WI, and lived peacefully in a home near Anderson Lake, where many fond memories were made. Phyllis was a dedicated follower of God, always putting her family first. She enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family and friends, knitting, baking (chocolate chip cookies), and traveling.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Leonard Pelishek; children: Dave Peterman, Joe Pelishek, Judy (Kerry) Krueger, Jackie (Jeff) Buhr, Jennifer Pelishek, Julie (Kevin) Hoagland, Jeanne (Mike) Cihak, and Jason Pelishek (special friend Tamarra Taylor). Her grandchildren: Heather (Nick) Terry, Melissa Anderson, Mike Peterman (special friend Courtnee Rosera), Robert (Megan) Hawley, Amber Krueger, Tara (Anas) Da'ana, Alyssa Bogenschutz (fiancé Javon Shirley), Jeffery (Janelle) Pelishek, Nicci Greene, LaKeishya (Allen) Vanden Heuvel, Lanae Bogenschutz (special friend Jon Bender), Brandon Bogenschutz (special friend Gaby Reyez), Kimberly (Zach) Engel, Alyshia (Hunter) Mayer, Jaz (Chris) Gourd, Jennifer Buhr, Kianna Pelishek, and 23 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, siblings, and extended family, she is preceded in death by her son, Jon Pelishek; her grandson, Kyle Pelishek; and her beloved dog, Buddy.
Visitation for Phyllis will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour, from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Bob Kabat and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery, with a lunch to follow at St. Johns gymnasium.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Shepherd Bus Fund, in Phyllis's name are appreciated.
