Ralph C. Hilgenberg, 80, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Country Villa in Freedom. He was born July 28, 1938, son of the late William and Marie (Van Doorn) Hilgenberg.
Ralph was a faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, where he could be found at Sunday morning coffee hour on a regular basis. On April 27, 1968 he was united in marriage to Shirley Abel, having celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Ralph worked at Seymour Canning Company and at the pallet factory in Black Creek. He kept himself busy with various other jobs throughout the years.
Ralph enjoyed playing cards, going for walks, and visiting with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; sister, Kathy Berg; sisters-in-law: Mary Abel and Kathy Abel; nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ralph is preceded in death by a sister, Jean (Arnold) Kramer; brothers, Mart (Gloria) Hilgenberg,
Bill (Dorothy) Hilgenberg, Ernie Hilgenberg; brothers-in-law, John Berg, Marlin Abel, and Richard (Betty) Abel; nephew, James Berg; and godson, Derek Nabbefeldt.
Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, on Monday, June 3, 2019 from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Natalie Kramer officiating. Burial will take place in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ralph's memory.
