Raymond J. Boodry, age 88, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. He was born on May 3, 1922, the son of Joseph and Martha (Bauer) Boodry.
Ray graduated from Clintonville High School and Oshkosh Technical College. After World War II he attended University of Wisconsin and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked in the Engineering Department of F.W.D. Corporation in Clintonville, Wisconsin and N.W. Engineering in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Ray served in World War II with the 216th A.A.A. Gun Battalion. As a radar operator, thru North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany, earning many medals.
On June 26, 1971 Ray married Mildred (Schultz) Pockat at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shiocton.
Ray enjoyed gardening, grilling, camping and traveling with his beloved wife Mildred.
Ray is survived by two sisters, Margaret Leeman and Shirley (Jim) Allen and one brother, Eddie, all of Shiocton; two step-sons: Phil (Kay) Pockat, Burlington, WI; and John (Peggy) Pockat, Shell Lake, WI; one step-daughter, Joan Pockat, Las Vegas, NV. He is further survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and also his loving wife on November 11, 2000.
Friends may call at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shiocton on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 11 AM until funeral services at 1 PM with Pastor Paul Hinz officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Township of Maine. Military rites will be held. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shiocton or to Heartland Hospice.
