Raymond "Ray" V. Palubicki, age 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 22, 2024. He was born on January 18, 1934, to the late Ernest and Nettie (Lepak) Palubicki. On August 24, 1957, he married the love of his life, Grace Nowaczyk, at Assumption B.V.M. Church, Pulaski, celebrating 66 years of marriage.
Ray served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a member of the American Legion Post 106 in Seymour. As a member, he served as Commander, marched in the Color Guard, and enjoyed preparing meals for meetings and fundraiser events with his fellow Veterans.
Following his service in the Army, Ray worked at Outagamie Producers/ALTO Dairy in Black Creek, Wisconsin for 40 years as a Master Cheese Maker and Plant Manager. Ray took pride in making high quality cheese, winning many awards. Most recently, the 2021 WCMA Vanguard Lifetime Achievement Award for Innovation in the Cheese Making Industry.
In his earlier years, Ray enjoyed camping, going to the cottage, snowmobiling, and traveling to Branson, MO. In retirement, Ray enjoyed golfing, fishing, especially the many trips to Canada, and playing cards with friends. Ray was an avid sports fan. As a Seymour Booster he enjoyed watching all of his children in their sporting activities and then later, his grandchildren's sports and activities. He was a true Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badger fan attending games, especially at Lambeau Field.
Along with his wife, survivors include his children: Gregg (Laurie) Palubicki, Black Creek, Judy (Gary) Schenk, Seymour, Jackie Palubicki, DePere, Dale Palubicki (Chris Bloch), Seymour, Scott (Michelle) Palubicki, Townsend; 11 grandchildren: Stephan (Jessica Fuerst), Lyssa (Shane), Colton (Holly), Anna (Reed), Shelby, Megan, Craig (Tami), Haley (Kaleb), Sean (Katie), Sam, and Emily; 10 great grandchildren: Kyler, Noah, Lily, Sydney, Ray, Kaycee, Krue, Capri, Charley, and Stetson; brother, Donald (Ruth) Palubicki, Bellevue; sister-in-law: Gloria Pansier, Marquette, MI; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and family members.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Nettie; father-in-law and mother in- law, Chet and Cecelia Nowaczyk; brother, Vernon Palubicki; sisters and brother-in-laws: Nancy (Bernie) Zawalick, Marilyn (Wally) Christiansen, Dave Pansier; and a granddaughter, Kate Lynn Schenk.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Ray's memory can be made to the American Legion Post 106 or Seymour Community Sports and Activities of your choice.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital and the Unity Hospice Team for their care and compassion. A special thanks to Michelle, our angel, who provided care and support for Dad over the years, especially in the past few weeks.
Dad will be remembered as a selfless man, always putting his family and others first.
Visitation for Ray will take place at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour, on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 4:00 pm until the parish prayer service at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue at church on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Sengole Dass and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 106 of Seymour. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
