Raymond Rihm, age 92, of Appleton passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 from a heart attack. He was born February 26, 1921 son of the late Theodore and Alma (Kuse) Rihm. On May 8, 1948 he married Veramae Duhm at St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church Black Creek. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year.
He loved farming and he and his family were dairy farmers for 20 years besides Ray working at off-the-farm jobs. After retiring from farming he worked at Shiocton schools as a custodian for 20 years and at St. John's United Church of Christ for 13 years.
He enjoyed gardening, traveling and was always fixing something. He always listened to church programs daily and on Sundays. He listened daily to farm news and weather.
He is survived by his wife Vera; children: Terry, David, Daniel and Timothy, Black Creek; Thomas (Jeannie), Greensville; Peggy (Merlin) Rohm, Seymour; Grandchildren: Kori (Tony) Zawojski, Egg Habor; Cassie (Pudge) Schuh, Seymour, Adam (Jade) Rihm, Shiocton; Kayla Rihm, River Falls; Michael Rihm, Black Creek; Jennifer (Jeremy) Van Dinter; Brian, Kali, Emma Randal, Katie (Dane) Checolinski, Sheboygan; Kimberly Rohm, Seymour; Amber Rihm and friend, Appleton; Dallas Rihm, Black Creek; seven great grandchildren: Ty and Natalie; Brooke, Jack, Ted; Payton and Arianna; sisters-in-law Marcella Reese, Gerry Duhm; brother-in-law Robert Melchert, brother Earl Rihm; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Luanne; brother, Harvey (Helen); sister, Marian Melchert; brothers-in-law: Richard Reese, Wallace Duhm and George Duhm, Jr.; sisters-in-law: (infant) Betty Ann Duhm, Joan Rihm, Francis Rihm, Edna Duhm; in-laws, George (Dorothy Birmingham) Duhm, Sr.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. and will continue on Friday, July 19, 2013 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Black Creek, 101 S. Clark Street, Black Creek; from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Schwinn officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
