Raymond C. Van Boxtel, 96, of Seymour, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018. He was born February 10, 1922 son of the late Anton and Antonette (Wildenberg) Van Boxtel. On May 10, 1947, he was united in marriage to Louise Linders in Oneida. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2017.
Raymond was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom and enjoyed being a reliable usher. Raymond was a devoted dairy farmer. He was one of the hardest workers you would ever meet. He often preferred to stay home plowing fields, planting seed, bailing hay, and doing all the other chores as farming was his passion. Ray was known to have tremendous compassion for animals.
He is survived by his children: Barbara Kreil, Gary (Eileen) Van Boxtel, Julie (Brad Voyles) Van Boxtel; grandchildren: Scott (Krista) Kreil, Rob (Jenny) Kreil, Jennifer (Troy) Cox, Andrew (Kendra) Van Boxtel, Joseph (Rebecca) Van Boxtel and Amanda Voyles; ten great-grandchildren: Kendra, Connor, Sam, Ben, Libby, Madison, Marcus, Tyler, Jayden and Eleanor; sons-in-law: Dave Belling and Jerry Vanden Elzen; sisters-in-law: Delores Van Boxtel, Evelyn Hug, Mary Lou Puls, and Patricia Przyblski.
Raymond is preceded in death by one infant daughter, Susan; daughters: Debbie and Kathy; son, Mike; son-in-law, Kenneth Kreil; brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 10:00 am until the mass of Christian burial at 12:00 noon with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating.
