Rhett Ashman

Rhett K. Ashman, age 22, of Seymour took his last breath in the arms of mom, dad and sister and surrounded by other family members on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born August 6, 1990 son of Steve and Rhonda (Spaulding) Ashman.

Rhett was a 2008 graduate of Seymour High School where he was an active member of the high school band and math team. He was a member of the shooting stars 4-H Club and had served as president of the club at one time. He enjoyed Game Boy, playing games on his computer and camping with his family. He attended UWGB. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.

He is survived by his parents, Steve and Rhonda; sister, Raissa; maternal grandparents, Ken and Marcia Spaulding; paternal grandmother, Vera Ashman; a special friend and his care giver, Jenny; aunts, uncles and cousins and his 3 cats.

Rhett is preceded in death by his infant brother, Rillian; grandfather, Elmer Ashman and great grandparents.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 3-8 PM and on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour from 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Rhett was diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy, as a 3 year old. He survived a cardiac arrest at that time and it was a miracle that we had the next 19 years with him. His family pushed him to the maximum and had every opportunity he could have. Camping with his family was the highlight of his life. He has turned in his wheelchair for wings.
