Richard D. Adamski, 99, Seymour, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Meadow Wood. Dick was born on May 22, 1923, to the late Stanley and Tekla (Holewinski) Adamski. On June 10, 1950, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Bialozynski. Evelyn and Richard farmed their entire life. Evelyn preceded Richard in death on June 18, 2016.
Dick was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Hofa Park. He enjoyed gardening watching sports, and spending time with his family. In his earlier years, Dick was a star basketball player at Seymour High School, and he enjoyed playing baseball. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. In his later years Dick enjoyed word search books. Dick's family and faith were his greatest passions in life. He always said, "take care of yourself, and take care of your family." Dick was a humble and selfless man, and he was always concerned about the wellbeing of others above himself.
He is survived by children: Carol (Alan) Van Straten, Shiocton; Mary (Ted) Penn, De Pere; Rick (Valerie) Adamski, Seymour; Jean Strye, Deerfield, Ill.; seven grandchildren: Luke (Holly) Van Straten, Matthew (Dimitria) Van Straten, and Sarah (Grant) Gierosky, Andrew (fiancee, Heather Toman) Adamski, Genevieve Adamski, Ryan Strye, and Erin Strye; seven great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Maryann, Alice, Alan, Patrick, Irene, and Annabelle; one sister-in-law, Helen (Roger) Rozmiarek; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by two grandchildren; twelve siblings: Rose, Joe, Julia, Martha, Louis, Alice, Tony, Clara, Frank, Alvina, Belle, and Beatie; and Evelyn's 6 siblings.
Visitation will take place at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, W1888 Hofa Park Rd, on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 p.m., Fr. James Esser, O.F.M. presiding, Fr. Brendan Wroblewski, O.F.M., concelebrating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff and residents of Meadow Wood for their care, friendship, and for keeping a watchful eye on dad. Also, a special thanks to Unity Hospice for their compassionate care.
