Richard "Dick" L. DeBuhr, age 82, of Seymour passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. He was born in Platteville, WI on December 29, 1941 to the late Harry and Dorothy (Spink) DeBuhr.
He was united in marriage to Sharyn Lentz on April 22, 1966 in Philadelphia.
Dick served in the US Army from 1964 to 1970. He had the privilege to go on an Honor Flight in 2023. Dick was a member of American Legion Post 106 in Seymour having been a Past Commander.
Following his service in the Army, he dairy farmed until 1988. Dick than began a career with the US Postal Service having retired as a Rural Carrier in 2011.
He enjoyed bowling on the various leagues at Wally's in Seymour and performing military honors for fellow veterans. Dick participated in many state and national bowling tournaments over the years. Traveling was one of his favorite things to do. He enjoyed going on walks and had walked the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day 20 years in a row. As an avid cribbage player he also participated in many cribbage tournaments. He was also known to listen, watch, or attend Brewer and Packer games.
He is survived by his wife, Sharyn DeBuhr; children: Joel (Sunnie), Steven (Laura), David; Kim (John) Schmidt, Paul, Mark (Britni Popp), Michael (Jamee), and Sue (Nicholas) Sanek; 23 grandchildren: TJ, Clare, Wayne, Dietrich, Ethan, Danielle, James, Jacob, Mason, Robin, Preston, Bryn, Brinleigh, Sara, Myles, Elsie, Kayden, Aragon, Tennison, Nora, Rex, Mordecai, and Mazie. He is further survived by a sister, Lois Radloff; sisters-in-law, Nona DeBuhr and Linda Lentz; brother-in-law, George (Terry) Lentz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, William; and brother-in-law, Gene Radloff; and sister-in-law, Lois Ianelli.
Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 12 noon with Pastor Lee Helms officiating. Military Honors will be performed by American Legion Post 106 immediately following the service.
