Richard J. "Rick" Gruentzel, 73, of Appleton passed away on January 19, 2021 at Brewster Village. Rick served in the US Army in Germany and Vietnam. On March 11, 1968, he was united in marriage to Doris Rice having celebrated over 52 years of marriage.
Rick worked as a machine operator at Appleton Papers. He enjoyed fishing when he could, as well as watching the Green Bay Packers games. Rick loved to play racing games with his daughter, Stacy, and his grandkids, Dedee and Jessica. He spent most of his time creating wonderful memories with his family while taking them to amusement parks and out to eat. Rick's favorite thing to do in life was just sitting and eating.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; son, Dion Gruentzel; daughter, Stacy (Greg) Gauthier; grandchildren: Mathew, Natasha, Letitia, Deanndrea "Dedee" (Kaleb) Picker, and Jessica; four great-grandchildren; his sister: Sharon (John) Gruber; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Gruentzel.
