Richard Houterman

Richard A. Houterman, Sr, 69, of Black Creek passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 23, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 23, 1948, the son of the late William and Dorothy (Schaumann) Houterman.

On December 6, 1969 he was united in marriage to Sally A. Van Patten. She preceded him in death on February 1, 2017.

Richard served his country in the United States Navy, from 1967-1969.

Richard was a truck driver for over 40 years, several of those years as an owner/operator. He achieved 2 million miles accident free during his career.

Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He loved his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his sons; Rick Jr. (Terri) Houterman, Shiocton; Ryan (Jill) Houterman, Greenville; grandchildren: Jocelyn, Jordyn, and Rylene Houterman, Tanner Schuth; brother, Bill (Claudia) Houterman; sisters, Chris (Dave) Shukoski, Gloria (Lenny) Buksyk, Laura (Paul) Flunker.

Visitation for Richard will be held on Monday, November 26 from 4-6p.m.
