Rick A. Talakowski, age 54, passed away at home following a long battle with thyroid cancer. He was born June 21, 1954 in Milwaukee, son of Carol and Dan Talakowski. On May 23, 1986 he was united in marriage to Joanie Wickesberg.
Rick graduated from Fox Valley Tech in woodworking in 2001. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, convertible and time spent with his family. He also enjoyed nature, music and going to movies.
Survivors include his wife Joanie, children: Nicole (special friend Matt Hansen) Talakowski, Fond Du Lac and Dustin (special friend Shawna Wesenberg) Talakowski, Black Creek; mother, Carol Talakowski, Milwaukee; mother-in-law, Joyce Wickesberg, Black Creek; 2 sisters: Sharon Talakowski and Dyan Talakowski, both of Milwaukee; 1 brother, Robert Talakowski.
He was preceded in death by his father Daniel.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 2 PM until memorial services at 3 PM with Pastor Rebecca Henry officiating.
Ricks' body was donated to Lifequest in Philadelphia for research for his type of cancer.
