Robert Melchert

Robert A. Melchert, 89, of Seymour, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on his beloved wife Marian's birthday, Monday evening, March 10, 2014, at Meadow Wood Care Facility, Seymour. He was born April, 21, 1924, son of the late Fred and Anna (Minlschmidt) Melchert. .

On August 15, 1951, he was united in marriage to Marian Rihm in the Town of Cicero. She preceded him in death on October 13, 2011. He and his wife farmed in the Town of Seymour and spent his entire life on the Century family farm. Robert was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where he was active in the Brotherhood, usher, choir, church council and the Merry Mates. He was a life-long Packer fan.

Robert is survived by his children: Ronald Melchert, Seymour; Nancy (Rick) Jones, Herndon, VA; Steven Melchert, Seymour; Brian (Cheryl) Melchert, Seymour; Bruce (Cathy Nilles) Melchert, Willmar, Minnesota; grandchildren: Mary (Ryan) Carlson, Bobby (Wynt Htoon) Jones, Michelle Jones, Stephanie (Steve) South, Stacy (Joshua) Marshall, Aaron (Jessica) Melchert, Marie Nilles-Melchert, Thomas Nilles-Melchert; a great-granddaughter, Heidi; great-grandson, Paden and another great-grandchild on the way; sister: Marie Melchert, Milwaukee; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Jean Melchert, Seymour; Earl Rihm, Milwaukee; Vera Rihm, Black Creek.

He was preceded in death by sisters: Esther Melchert, Ruth (Lloyd) La Violette; brothers and sisters-in-law: Walter (Ruth) Melchert, Raymond (Lucy) Melchert, Rev. Elmer (Virginia) Melchert, Archie (Lu Lu) Melchert, Henry (Adela) Melchert and Carl Melchert; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Harvey (Helen) Rihm, Joan Rihm, Frances Rihm and Raymond Rihm.

Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 4- 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
