Robert Murphy

Robert "Bob" M. Murphy, age 83, of Freedom, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Rennes Health Center in Appleton. He was born October 5, 1928, in Freedom, to the late Frank and Rosella (Weyenberg) Murphy. Bob graduated from Freedom High School and was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom.

He married Judith Potts on July 2, 1976. She preceded him in death on March 22, 1978.

Bob resided in Freedom his entire life, where he raised three children. He owned and operated Bob Murphy Trucking for many years until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was known to be a Milwaukee Brewers fan.

Survivors include his 2 daughters: Valarie (Jason) Wunderlich of Greenville and Veronica (Russ) Zuleger of Shawano; son Kurt (Lisa) Murphy of Freedom; 7 grandchildren: Amanda, Mackenzie, Travis, Jarrett, Cole, Samantha, and Owen; 2 brothers: Marty (Pat) Murphy and Francis "Scrub" (Terese) Murphy both of Freedom. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Judy; grandson Tim Amerson: 2 brothers: Edwill and Jack Murphy; 3 sisters: Johanna Murphy, Frances (Floyd) Reiland, Johanna (Gerald) Geenen; stepmother Minnie Williams.

Friends may call at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom, on Tuesday, April 24th, 2012 from 1 PM until the funeral mass at 4 PM with Fr. David Hoffman officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
