Robert L. Van Dreel, 87, of Hobart, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born May 11, 1930, son of the late Henry and Mildred (Herbeck) Van Dreel.
Bob attended Lannoye Grade School and later graduated from Seymour High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
On June 18, 1960 he was united in marriage to Frances Pivonka at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere.
Bob was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oneida.
He worked for Proctor and Gamble, retiring in 1989. He and was a master carpenter that could make anything and would normally be found in his workshop.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and in his younger days enjoyed motorcycling. Bob was an avid Packer fan having frequently attended the Packer tv and radio shows. The family cherished the time they spent together at the cottage in St. Germain. Bob also enjoyed going to the casino, taking car rides, and visiting the Kelly Lake area. Above all, Bob loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Jessica (Dave) Van Dreel-Ports; grandchild, Trevor Vaile; step-granddaughters: Kathryn and Stephanie Ports; brothers: Richard (Jean) Van Dreel and Bernard (Mary Lou) Van Dreel; and sister, Beverly (Gerald) Pieschek.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Thursday, May 10, 2018, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a parish prayer service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oneida, on Friday, May 11, 2018, from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. John Chrysostom Katamba and Deacon Bobby Doxtator officiating. Entombment will take place at Ft. Howard Memorial Park in Green Bay.
