Rodney John Malkoff, age 90, passed on Thursday, October 27, 2022, surrounded by family at Community North Hospital after a brief illness.
Rodney was born on August 5, 1932, in Appleton, WI to the late Peter and Mildred Malkoff. He graduated from Hilbert High School. While at a dance he met the love of his life Alice L. (Henn) Malkoff, and they were wed June 22, 1957. Rodney was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, neighbor and a longtime member of St. Joan of Arc, Kokomo, IN.
Surviving is daughter, Kristine (Malkoff) Hart, Boonville, IN; son, John Malkoff and wife Phyllis, Lugoff, SC; daughter, Jennifer (Malkoff) Beauregard and husband John, Choctaw, OK; son, Jeffrey Malkoff and wife Jane, Noblesville, IN; grandchildren Robert, Elijah and wife Abby, Joseph and wife Lindy, Jordan, Amber, Stephanie, Kyle and wife Jamie, Luke and wife Therese, Alaina, Abigail and husband Jared, Colin, Lillian, Joel, and Victor; great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Caspian, Meredith, Michael (d.), Bernadette, Martin, Elizabeth, Peregrine, Madeleine, Matthais and Fulton; sister-in-law Carolyn Henn; and several dear nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alice L. Malkoff, father, Peter A. Malkoff; mother, Mildred A. (Loewe) Malkoff; brother, Eugene P. Malkoff.
Rodney was a lifelong engineer starting when he was a young teenager making smoke bombs in his parent's basement. This led him to pursue engineering degrees at Michigan Technology and Purdue University. While working at Delco Electrics, he also taught evening classes at Indiana University Kokomo (IUK) and Ivy Tech. Following his tenure at Delco Electronics, Rodney retired in 1993 to pursue many joys of life.
He then spent time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Other joys included his love for rockets, space, UFO stories, watercolor painting, string art, making whirligigs from old CD-ROM disks, feeding and watching birds in the backyard, and making new friends. When he could, he would slip in a story or two about his childhood alongside his silly jokes. Additionally, he was a long-time member of the Kokomo Computer Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, November 3, 2022, at St. Joan of Arc, 3155 County Road S 200 W, Kokomo, IN 46902. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at St. Joan of Arc.
An additional visitation will occur Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S Main St, Seymour, WI 54165, with a graveside service immediately following at St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery.
