HANUS, ROGER D.
Navarino

Roger D. Hanus, 71, of Navarino, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 26, 2007. He was born in Oshkosh on November 16, 1935, to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Gams) Hanus.

He served in the Korean War, and was a member of the American Legion Post #106, Seymour.

He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed 25 years of service with local contractors. He retired in 1997, and devoted his time and energy to his one true home, his family farm where he dedicated his time working and gardening. Nothing brought Roger greater joy than to bring his family fresh vegetables. Aside from his gardening Roger loved to see his grandchildren, and had a great passion for dancing.

Roger is survived by his four children: Brad (Lori) Hanus of Green Bay and their children Mackenzie, Mason, and Bennett; Shelly (Dale) Rottier of DePere and their children Zak, Aaron, Chad, Bryan, and Will; Doug (Jackie) Hanus of DePere and their children Hallie, Lexie, and Sophie; and Corrine (Tom) Grelecki of Seymour and their children Eli and Tommy; and special friend and companion Caryl Miers of Darboy and her children Scott and Sandy.

He is also survived by six siblings: Randy (Joan) Hanus of Freedom, Mary Ellen (Bill) Peeters of Navarino, Bonnie (Clarence) Daebler of Navarino, Frank Hanus of Navarino, Betty Hanus of Neenah, and Michael Hanus of Green Bay, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Daniel Hanus.

Friends may call to St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Navarino from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 3:00 P.M. at the church. Military honors will follow. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.

A memorial fund has been established.

Online condolences may be expressed www.boettcherfuneralhomes.com

Roger will be forever missed, but always remembered at his farm "where the only dirt to settle under his feet was the dirt in his garden."
