Ronald A. Buchmann, 61, Seymour, passed away early Friday morning, August 21, 2009, at the Unity Hospice Center in Green Bay. He was born March 21, 1948, in Green Bay, son of Aletha (Krahn) Buchmann and the late Norman Buchmann. Ron was a 1966 graduate of Seymour High School where he was active participating in athletics, especially football, and attended UW-River Falls and the Farm and Industry Short Course at UW-Madison. In 2000-2001, Ron was named S-Club "Backer of the Year" for his support of Seymour High School athletics. He served on the State FFA Alumni Board, was a Charter member of the Seymour Chapter and 1980 was honored for outstanding service. He also was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour. Ron had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting. He was a lifetime member of Whitetails Unlimited, a lifetime member of North American Hunting Club, Wisconsin Bow Hunters Association, National Rifle Association, 25 year member of the Ruffed Grouse Society and lifetime member of Ducks Unlimited. He received the 20 year award as Outagamie County delegate to Wisconsin Conservation Congress. He was a member of the Shadows of the Wolf.
Survivors include his mother, Aletha Buchmann, Seymour; brother, William (Lyn) Buchmann, Seymour; niece, Rebecca Buchmann, DePere; nephews: Beau (Amy) Buchmann and their daughter, Bella, Toronto, Canada; and Brandon Buchmann, Seymour.
Friends may call at Muehl - Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009, and Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
