Ronald Rottier

Ronald "Ron" R. Rottier, age 63, of Seymour passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, August 23, 2024. He was born on November 15, 1960 to Norbert and Teena (Hock) Rottier.

Ron was a beloved son, brother, "Pops", "Papa Ron" and friend. Ron leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and a quiet gentle soul for all who were around him. Ron had a dedication to his family and especially cherished his grandchildren.

Ron was very proud growing up on the Rottier Farm, he always was at ease working land and driving a tractor. When Ron made the choice to join the workforce outside of the farm, even young he was a very committed employee. He spent many years driving truck and traveling throughout the US.

Ron wanted to be closer to home, so he took his seat in a concrete mixer to enjoy being near his family. Ron found great happiness when he was able to deliver concrete for his son, Chris and work on projects with him. Ron loved spending time on his motorcycle, playing cribbage, letting his grandson beat him at chess, and letting the grandkids ride four wheelers. Ron was recently retired and excited to take a trip to visit his daughter.

Ron was very proud of the home he built with the help of his family and friends. You could always find him in his shop, putting together new flower displays or moving his tractors so "they wouldn't fight". Ron had a great sense of humor and a kind heart. His kindness always included animals that brought him joy. Ron's dogs, Jack and Ellie, and a cat named "Dog" all stole a piece his heart.

He is survived by his son, Christian (Jennifer) Rottier; grandchildren: Kailey, Juliana, Trip, and Reece; great-grandson, Easton; daughter, Shana (Jeff) Langston; grandchildren: Jefferson and Ashton; parents: Norbert and Teena Rottier; and sisters Ginny Rottier (special friend Scott Pues) and Patty (Jim) Elie; sister-in-law, Virginia Rottier and many nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Francis and Matilda Rottier; maternal grandparents; Alex and Violet Hock, and beloved brother, Jeff Rottier.

Visitation for Ron will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on September 5th, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 PM with Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating.
