Rose Ann Samson, age 89, of Shiocton passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Thedacare Regional Hospital in Appleton with family by her side. She was born on February 18, 1935 to the late William and Anna (Riehl) Kruse.
Rose was united in marriage to John Samson on June 23, 1951 having celebrated over 70 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2022.
She enjoyed the many hours spent in the kitchen canning tomatoes and pickles, baking homemade bread, and freezing corn.
Rose was a natural caregiver to her family and those she loved. Her greatest joys were being able to take care of her children, and especially her grandchildren. She provided for her family and loved ones in abundance, and never turned down an opportunity to help her family, even if it meant that she went without. All of this was done with always having a smile on her face and making you feel welcomed.
She is survived by her children: Linda (Don) Stefanic, Randy (Bonny) Samson, and Connie Hooyman; grandchildren: Jennifer (Eric) Beck and Angela (Chris) Prochniewski, Steven (Aubrey) Samson, Eric (Nikki) Samson, and Cory (Sam Miles) Samson, and Tony (Sarah) Hooyman, Rachel (Mike) Krueger, and Austin (Elisa) Hooyman; 21 great-grandchildren: Brody, Reed, Olivia, Carter, Leo, Blake, Dane, Gus, Collin, Carson, Chloe, Abigail, Charlotte, Audrina, Ethan, Lillian, Gavin, Kaylee, Mackenzie, Wesley, and Eli. Rose is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Samson; son, Kenneth Samson; son-in-law, Paul Hooyman; and great-grandson, Colton Krueger; and all six of her siblings.
Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 1:30 pm until the funeral service at 3:30 pm with Pastor Moira Finley officiating. Burial will follow in the Bovina Cemetery.
