Roselyn “Rosie” Mauthe, 79, passed away at Good Shepherd Home in Seymour on Saturday, February 24, 2018. She was born November 7, 1938, daughter of the late Jacob and Lorinda (Beyer) Stephani.
She graduated from Seymour High School and began working at Kimberly-Clark. Rosie was united in marriage to Dr. Donald Mauthe and together they raised five children; he preceded her in death.
During her life Rosie was able to travel the globe. While living in Japan she was very active in the Japanese/American community. In 1985 she moved back home to Wisconsin.
She is survived by her children: Diana (Thomas) Sullivan, Robert (Dawn) Mauthe, Lisa Mauthe, John (Angela) Mauthe; grandchildren: Kevin and Alissa Sullivan, Alex and Keaton Mauthe, Cody and Baylee Mauthe, Brady and Madalyn Mauthe, Nathan and Nicholas Hintz; siblings: Eugene Stephani, Florence McCarthy, Delores (Arnie) Strauch, Kathleen (James) Fischer, and LaVerne (Ronald) Cropsey; sisters-in-law: Lavina Stephani, Delores Stephani, Marcie Stover, Iva Jean Adamski, and Eunice Sievert.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William “Bill” Mauthe; brothers: Jerome “Romy”, Lawrence, and Ervin Stephani; sisters: Elvera (Richard) Maroszek and Joyce (Dr. Vern) Manthei; sister-in-law: Lois Stephani; brothers-in-law: Richard Merholtz, Edward McCarthy, and Charles Golonka.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Black Creek, from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Theodore Hendricks officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
