Rose Marie E. Giffey, age 72, passed away on April 29, 2010 at her home. She was born December 31, 1937 daughter of the late Charlie and Edna (Erdmann) Howard. On August 13, 1960 she was united in marriage to Pierce Giffey at St. Peter's in Oshkosh.

Rose Marie graduated from Appleton West High School, Outagamie County Teachers College and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She taught 6 years at Maple Grove School, Township of Freedom and 34 years in the Kimberly School District. In her free time she enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, gardening, cooking and playing cards. She was a member of St. Edward's in Mackville.

Survivors include her husband Pierce, son Timothy, Appleton; daughter Michelle, Green Bay; one brother, Wayne (Barbara) Howard, Hortonville; sister Karen Howard, Kimberly; brothers-in-law: Neil (Jan) Giffey, Dodgeville; David (Nancy) Giffey, Arena; sister-in-law, Prudence Giffey, Spring Green; also nieces and nephews: Chris (Ginger) Howard, Carla Beeson, Chad Howard, Anne Giffey (Robert Budach) and Tom (Tiffany) Giffey; great-nieces and nephews: Madesyn Arena and Braden Beeson, Cameron and Brennen Howard, David and Michael Goodfriend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Monica and Neil Giffey.

Friends may call at St. Edwards Catholic Church, Mackville on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 4 PM until 8 PM. Visitation will continue at church on Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 9 AM until services at 10 AM with Father Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
